Cargo bikes are increasingly prevalent in Oklahoma City, and they could be even more prevalent with some additional exposure to folks that might be inclined to try or buy them.
So the idea is to have a monthly ride that isn't about distance, but about riding through populated areas to grab eyeballs and bring attention to the cargo bikes of OKC. Particularly interested in showing off the ways that cargo bikes are valid car replacers.
We'd start in a heavily foot-trafficked area -- such as Scissortail or Myriad Gardens -- car show style, where we have our bikes lined up in a manner that passers by would see them and maybe ask questions (we could even have some cute signs -- "ask me about my cargo bike" and the like). We could offer test rides, to each other, or to inquisitive onlookers if we're comfortable with that. Sometimes we could do gear swaps. Periodically we could have special occasion/event rides (e.g. Cranksgiving).
Anyway, after about 30 minutes of showing and sharing, we'd ride. Probably five-ish miles max, through Bricktown, Midtown, maybe Plaza or Paseo. Depends on where the crowds are that day. And then do it again next month.
VERY open to suggestion until we figure out what works!
